Kipoi Central is the principal deposit at the Kipoi Project, and contains a zone of high-grade copper mineralisation within a larger, lower grade global resource.
In December 2014, the Measured and Indicated Resource at Kipoi Central was 47.4 million tonnes at 1.31% copper for 623,000 tonnes of contained copper and the Inferred Resource was estimated at 2.9Mt at 0.89% copper for 23,000 tonnes of contained copper. Kipoi Central had Proven Ore Reserves of 1.7 million tonnes at 2.6% copper for 45,000 tonnes and the Kipoi Central Stockpiles 5.2 million tonnes at 2.6% copper for 134,000 tonnes, while the deposit also had Probable Ore Reserves of 34.3 million tonnes at 1.1% copper for 372,000 tonnes. This estimate was completed by Cube Consulting Pty Ltd and incorporated mining depletion at Kipoi Central to 31 December 2014.
The increased reserve at Kipoi Central will be mined and processed through the Stage 2 solvent extraction electrowinning (SXEW) plant which commenced copper cathode production in May 2014.
